Visiting my parents in California, means getting treated to restaurant meals every time! This visit they took me to China Moon and I loved every dish my parents ordered. It is a quaint, family owned and operated restaurant -- the patriarch is the head chef and you can taste the love in his dishes.
We had the thin, fried pork chops, crispy duck, chow mein with seafood and vegetables, and tofu with pork. Delicious -- I can't wait to return! -

Great service & great food. The place was clean and when we went around 7pm on a Wednesday it was pretty empty. The waitress was super kind & even cut the food for the 2 year old that was at the table with us. The food wasn't greasy & was fresh...(chicken fried rice was the bizness tho!!!) I will def go back when I'm craving Chinese food in Moraga. Check it out!!!

This place is the closest that Lamorinda comes to the restaurants I grew up eating at in SF Chinatown. Some down home dishes on the menu like salted fish fried rice, pea shoots, oxtail. Even some dishes written exclusively in Chinese! The prevalence of Chinese speaking return patrons should serve as an indication of authenticity. Service is snappy, and the staff is welcoming, friendly and nonstop on their feet. Prices are very reasonable too.

I was introduce to China Moon by a friend about a month ago. I've been there five times since! I'm Cantonese and can testify to the authentic flavor of the food. The dishes recommended to me by my friend were among the best I've had anywhere, even in S.F. My favorites are Peking Duck (don't even have to preorder, it's even available for lunch). "Kau Yuk", a pork belly dish with melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Steam Pork Hash with salted Fish. House Special Tofu, fried tofu topped with minced beef in a delicious gray.

Great food just wish it was cleaner. A dirty restaurant tells me how the food is being handled
